Michael Caine and Shakira just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The gifted actor, who rose to stardom after his first marriage as a father of one, fell deeply in love with Shakira at first sight.

Michael had a reputation as a sought-after lady’s man, but Shakira was the woman who grounded him and stole his heart. He first saw her in a Maxwell House ad he was watching at home in the early 1970s, and he set out to find her.

Shakira appeared to be Brazilian, so he informed his companion that they would fly to Brazil the next day to find her. Imagine his amazement when he learned that Shakira was Indian and that she lived nearby.

He was with a buddy in a bar when another guy entered, and during their conversation, the stranger disclosed that he was part of the team that created the advertisement Michael had seen his wife-to-be in.

Michael was informed by the stranger that Shakira was not from Brazil and that she was barely a mile away from him. When he finally found her, he had to contact her 11 times before she agreed to let him take her out; nevertheless, once she agreed, it was game over.
