A group of puppies abandoned in a wooded area of Cumberland County, Kentucky, is finally safe after rescuers managed to capture the last four dogs that had remained in the area.
According to the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society, six puppies from the same litter had already been rescued and brought into its care last week. Four siblings, however, could not initially be caught and remained in the woods.
Rescuers Refused to Leave the Remaining Puppies Behind
Local rescuers continued working to reach the four animals. This week, their efforts paid off: all four were safely trapped and transported to the humane society.
The newly rescued puppies are now receiving medical treatment and proper nutrition as they recover.
Meanwhile, the first six puppies are reportedly doing well. The humane society said their coats and overall condition have been improving each day.
A New Chance at Life
The first six puppies have recovered well enough that the shelter is now accepting adoption applications for them.
What began with an abandoned litter scattered in the Kentucky woods has now turned into a hopeful story: all 10 puppies are finally safe and receiving the care they need.
