Multiple U.S. Military Aircraft Damaged in Overnight Strikes at Jordan Air Base

September 10, 2026 | Jordan

Multiple U.S. military aircraft were damaged during overnight strikes on an air base in Jordan, according to a report published Thursday as tensions across the Middle East remain elevated.

The incident occurred at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, a facility in Jordan that hosts U.S. military aircraft and personnel.

A-10 Aircraft Reportedly Lost a Wing

According to a CBS reporter cited by Reuters, an A-10 Thunderbolt II, commonly known as the “Warthog,” suffered significant damage in the attack and lost a wing.

Approximately eight F-15 fighter jets also sustained minor damage.

Despite being hit, the F-15 aircraft were reportedly repaired or cleared sufficiently to return to service.

U.S. Military Assets Under Pressure

The reported damage comes amid continued instability across the Middle East, where American military installations and assets have faced heightened security threats.

The extent of the damage to the A-10 indicates that at least one aircraft was seriously affected, while the relatively quick return of the F-15s suggests their damage was less severe.

At the time of Reuters’ report, additional details about the strikes and the full circumstances surrounding the attack remained limited.

More information is expected as U.S. and regional officials assess the incident.
